The Beginning: A Humble Start
Our story began in October 1994 when our founder, Rick Wolozny, made the bold decision to leave another insurance brokerage to establish Trident Insurance Group. With a small team of six dedicated staff members, working out of a small office where we even took turns handling the cleaning duties. This hands-on approach fostered a strong sense of ownership and unity within the team.
Our early success was driven by a combination of existing client relationships and the ability to attract new clients who were drawn to our dynamic and client-focused approach. Some of those early clients remain with us today, a testament to the strong bonds we’ve built over the years.
Carving a Niche: Yacht Club and Boat Insurance
One of the defining moments in Trident’s history was the development of our specialty in Marine Property & Liability and Boat insurance. This niche market allowed us to differentiate ourselves from competitors and establish a reputation as experts in this field. Our deep understanding of the unique needs of yacht clubs, marinas and boat owners enabled us to provide tailored insurance solutions that met their specific requirements.
This expertise in marine insurance led to the creation of an underwriting agency, which eventually spun off as a separate entity known as Coast Insurance in 2021. Coast Insurance continues to thrive, serving clients with the same dedication and expertise that Trident has become known for.
Growth and Expansion
In 2000, we moved to our current location in Mount Hawthorn, Western Australia. This move marked a significant step in our growth journey, providing us with expanded facilities to accommodate our growing team and client base. In 2021, we completed a comprehensive refurbishment, transforming our office into a modern and welcoming workspace that meets the demands of a dynamic insurance industry.
Our growth was further accelerated in 2016 when Trident acquired LTM Insurance Brokers, expanding our reach and capabilities. Additionally, becoming an equity partner of Steadfast Group Ltd, Australia’s largest insurance broker network, provided us with access to enhanced resources and support in an ever-changing insurance market.

In 2021, Belinda Caunt joined the leadership team as Director alongside Executive Chairman Rick Wolozny and Head of Finance and Operations, Jordan Brindley. Their collective expertise, along with our entire team’s efforts, ensures we maintain our high standards of service and innovation. Our staff are fundamental to our reputation as a leading insurance provider.
